Silent House

Lately Netflix has been taking away a lot of really good movies from their instant streaming program, but I just found one movie that was recently added that I haven't seen since it was just released in theaters. Silent House. The star is Elizabeth Olsen, Mary-Kate and Ashley's little sister. Until Silent House was released, I wasn't even aware there was another Olsen sister.
Anyway, I didn't really remember much about this movie from when it was in theaters, but I do remember being completely confused at the end. Did anyone else feel that way?
It's a beautifully filmed movie; entirely in one shot too. I think even though it made no sense to me, it's a wonderful movie that's definitely worth the time.
Also, this is how the theater was labeled. That's funny, right?

It's Thanksgiving!

Does anyone remember Friday by Rebecca Black? Of course you do. Well, turns out Becca's got a mini-me, and apparently, it's thanksgiving!
You're welcome. Happy thanksgiving, everyone!

Video of the Day

Here are some seven year old whores-in-training.
I absolutely love them.
I have to say though, I'm disappointed in the girl in yellow. She didn't really do anything.
Here's the original video of the song, if you're interested.

Today I Googled the Word "Askew"

Never before have I been so excited by google. Definitely worth the time taken out of the day. All ten seconds of it. Try it and have a laugh on me!

Good Morning!

It's chilly here in Minneapolis, and as it seems, chilly weather means lazy me. I've got less than an hour to get ready for work; and here I am sitting on a heating pad, still in my pajamas. Does anyone out there have any tips on self-motivation?
On the note of motivation, I've joined a gym, and I need the motivation to take advantage of the classes! I can easily go and sit on a stationary bike, do laps around the track, or sit in the hot tub; but taking classes? How do you convince yourself to go?

Video of the Day

I'm sure most of you have already seen this video, probably multiple times even. In my case, I definitely have seen this video a good dozen times... But I haven't seen it since middle school! Today it popped up in the sidebar of my youtube subscription box, and I remembered why we would always watch this video in junior high. I was sitting cross legged on my bed with my ipad in my lap, laughing so hard that tears were coming out of my eyes. How funny is this guy?
Anyway, have yourself a good morning chuckle, and have a great day!

Birthday Month!

July first marks the beginning of my birthday month, and this year I've decided to do some reevaluating of my life. There are so many things I'd like to change in my life, and I think that this is the time to start. Basically, I need to look at where the clutter is in my life, and I need to cut it out. (Have I been reading too much Real Simple? Perhaps...) The most obvious things are definitely the tangible clutter in my life, and my diet and exercise. I think having these two goals for the start of my de-cluttering new lifestyle is a good start, and as the month (and years) progress, I'll narrow down on more and more specific areas of my life that need organizing; but for today, I feel content starting with the basics.
If anyone out there has any tips and tricks on how to clean up your life, please, send them my way! For the meantime, however, I'm cleaning up my diet, going for a serious run every morning, and going on a shopping no-buy for as many things as possible. Fingers crossed it all comes on naturally!

Getting to know you.

When I first started one of my jobs (the full-time one, for those of you keeping track) there was one person who pretty much instantly became my friend, and who I gained an instant respect for. He and I have always had a good brief repartee, but have never really talked in depth about anything in our personal lives. This evening as I was doing my usual sprint from work to the train, I ran into him leaving as well. We started talking about how our days went, and next thing I knew, we were walking around (in 65 degree weather, I might add...) talking about everything in our lives; current and otherwise. I can't say I've had a more enjoyable evening since I've started working as much as I have. We walked around for the better part of an hour before he walked me home; and I learned some incredible things about him, and told some stories of my own.
Since I've had pretty much no life since I started working this much, I haven't hung out with someone like that in months, and it was such a relaxing walk around town with someone who I now consider to be a really great friend. Granted, I always considered him a friend whose advice was always looking out for my best interests, but now that I've shared this evening with him, I will jump at any occasion to spend more time and share more conversations with him.
This guy was my first friend when I started working there, and after tonight, I might say one of my best friends there. Moral of my story: take the time to really get to know someone outside of work. You may have the best night of your life.

Pinterest.

Have any of you discovered Pinterest yet? I've been a part of it for quite a while now, but never really got into it until today. I've been "pinning" like mad today as I have the day off, and am a lazy person. Instead of cleaning like I should have been, I've been listening to Rebirth on repeat and fiddling around online for hours. It's been awesome. Anyway. This was just a quick check in to remind you that I'm still here! I've got weekends off from work now, so I *might* be posting more now on here. Given that I don't completely lose life on the weekends. So. "Hi! I'm still alive! Keep checking back!"

Happy New Year...(Almost a month late...)

I typically never make a New Years resolution for the obvious reason.. I never finish what I started. This year was no different then any other; then I got to thinking about it. I thought that this blog has been highly neglected, and probably requires some attention. Therefore, my (very) late New Year's resolution is to post more on this blog. Now, I know that they say to make a resolution very specific, so that there is no wiggle room, but hey, I'm not perfect. My schedule is very full, and I've taken on even more hours at work. I don't want to be specific. I may post every other day for a month, then you might not hear from me for two weeks. Well, I don't care. I'm busy, so I'll post when I can. For the meantime though, enjoy this picture of Aaron Rogers.
